Curricular activities are related with regular academic curriculum. We do experiment in science lab, project work. This type of work is curricular activities. In this type of activity, student learning by doing. Some curricular activities examples are math club, spelling bee, debate, speech, etc. Extracurricular activities, encompassing a wide range of pursuits including various organisations, mean outside of the regular academic curriculum and classroom. An example of extracurricular activities is sports, music, singing, dancing, scout and guide, cultural activity, community service, volunteer work, arts, etc.

Curricular and extracurricular activities both help the overall development of a student. They develop mental, physical, and social development in students. Extracurricular activities are important like academic subjects. Parents feel these extracurricular activities are not important for studies. So parents are pressurized to ensure their child does not stay away from it. They feel it will distract their child from studies.
